“Freedom of spirit is my work's purpose; to uplift and inspire feelings of pure love and joy. My fulfillment as an artist is complete if I feel that my sculpture stirs or awakens personal emotion in the hearts of its viewers. As I sculpt, I listen to an enduring memory of my own experiences. Each sculpture begins as dramatic light and shadows over form. Unique details then deliver a responding body that listens as a live face does.

Currently living and working in Dallas Texas, Kat grew up in nearby Garland, Texas and received her BFA in Denton, Texas. She is a well rounded professional artist, currently working in the discipline of sculpture as well as teaching stone carving and managing the stone sculpture department at the Creative Arts Center of Dallas.
Kat is always honored when someone entrusts her to recreate their special story in art. She has been creating commissioned works of art for over 25 years. Projects range from 6’ Tribute Sculptures and 5' Fire Breathing Dragons (yes real fire) to simple 1/2" tall clay yoga poses. Contact Kat and she will be happy to work collaboratively with you to create your special work of art!
Kat also creates sculpture for the pure joy of it. Creating a sculpture with no guarantee of that sculpture being purchased is one of the challenges of being an artist. Creating stories by creating shapes with highlight and shadow is the journey. Many times her sculptures are purchased prior to completion. That is why many of the works on this site are marked sold. If you see something you like that has already sold, contact Kat and she can create a new work inspired by the sculpture that you like.
As part of Kat’s artistic journey, Kat also teaches dance at The Rhythm Room and at a weekly dance she and her husband produce. You will see evidence of this fun creative art form mixed in with her stone carving classes and studio photos on her social media.
Her art business has been designated as a "Trusted Art Seller" with The Art Storefronts Organization, which means you can shop with confidence, and know that she stands behind the quality and value of her products.
February 19, 7:00 pm, First United Bank, 401 E Taylor St.
Donna Howell-Sickles will be our guest speaker.
We will be taking nomination for officers this January. The same folks have been serving for a while and it's time to give others the opportunity to help bring fresh ideas and energy to the organization. Please let me know if you have a nominee to recommend for any of the position. Please volunteer to be considered.
